Wallboard - also called drywall, gypsum board and plasterboard - was first introduced to the Australian building and construction industry in the 1940s. It is a construction material that is frequently used to finish interior walls and ceilings. The standard wallboards are made with gypsum plaster, covered on both sides with fibreglass matting or heavyweight paper. Manufacturers can produce drywalls with additional features, such as fire resistance and insulation. However, it still is better suited for dry areas.
Through a decade of continuous research and development, UBIQ developed their signature INEX>BOARDS. The innovative product range provides building solutions for various applications.
UBIQ formulated a unique brand of innovative product using lightweight fibre reinforced engineered cementitious composite (FREC). The binders utilised by UBIQ are 100% inorganic materials that bear small GHG (Greenhouse Gas) and VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) footprint.
INEX>WALLBOARD is non-toxic and free from asbestos.
Durable and Water Resistant Wallboards
The bone like cellular structure of INEX>WALLBOARD offer excellent strength and durability. It is intended to withstand the natural elements of Australia that might contribute to its early degradation. Unlike the standard drywall, the water resistant wallboard can also be used in exterior wall applications. It is resistant to UV light, frosty conditions, extreme heat, humidity, torrential rains and high winds.
INEX>WALLBOARD is also resistant to termite attacks and mould.
Flexible and Sag-resistant
UBIQ INEX>BOARDS have a bending strength of up to 75 Mpa; that's three times stronger than concrete.
Speeds Up Construction Time
INEX>WALLBOARD is easy to handle, cut and install. It accounts for saving valuable resources without compromising the product integrity.
Fire-rated Building Material
INEX>WALLBOARD conforms to Australian Standard AS1530.1 or the most stringent Combustibility Tests for Materials. It suits building applications under the Bushfire BAL - 40 and provides a one-hour fire rated wall construction.
Acoustic Insulation
INEX>WALLBOARD has outstanding sound attenuation properties. It's highly comparable to the sound made inside a solid masonry building. INEX>WALLBOARD provides an ideal setting for enjoying music or conversation.
Logistically Available
UBIQ INEX>BOARDS are readily accessible across Australia through UBIQ official stockists or distributors.
UBIQ INEX>WALLBOARD for Any Building, Any Surface, Anywhere
UBIQ's product range was put to the test as Atlanta Building Pty Ltd, a New South Wales-based builder, utilised INEX>WALLBOARD and INEX>WEATHERBOARD in a Byron Bay construction in November 2011.
Atlanta Building was asked to build two large timber framed houses with UBIQ's product for the internal wall applications in one house and another typical fibre cement based plasterboard and wallboard on the other.
The builders commended the superb quality finish of both INEX>WALLBOARD and INEX>WEATHERBOARD. Both materials were easy to handle and install, which saved the builders valuable time. They even used excess UBIQ products where needed, to complete the other house.
UBIQ showcases a broad range of low carbon and highly durable building boards designed to fit today's high demand for timber alternatives in the construction industry.
