Davco introduces glass mosaic additive
Fans of glass mosaics will welcome the launch of the Davco glass mosaic additive by the leaders in adhesives, grouts and
waterproofing products.
When combined with Davco Sanitized Colorgrout, the new additive can be used as an adhesive, grout or both. Being able to adhere the mosaics
and grout them in one process gives the user a great bonus in saved time.
A major point is that the Glass Mosaic Additive can be used externally, as well as internally. An abundance of fashion colours which can be
used in conjunction with the extensive range of Sanitized Colorgrout colours bring delightful results with renovations and new constructions.
Launching the Glass Mosaic Additive, John Moses Davco's national marketing manager, said the increased popularity of glass mosaic had inspired
Davco's technical experts to develop the new product.
"This is a highly versatile product that can be used on a wide variety of substrates externally and internally. It can be used to fix a range
of tile types including ceramic, vitrified, porcelain, terracotta, slate, quarry natural stone and granite, mosaic and marble tiles (except
green marble).
"It has excellent water resistance qualities and, when combined with Sanitized Colorgrout, it is ideal for swimming pools and other wet areas
after curing" said John Moses.
"Applicators will find it has a good pot life giving more work time, as well as allowing larger mixes, saving valuable time on the job.
"An added user benefit is the product's long open time factor. This gives more time to bed tiles into the adhesive which is particularly
beneficial for laying mosaics on external projects. Full sheets of mosaics can be fixed without slumping or sliding on the surface and Glass
Mosaic Additive is easy to clean off the face of the tiles for a cleaner more efficient job" John Moses added.
