Davco Construction Materials' Sanitized® Porcelain Grout is proving its value for use with polished porcelain, soft glazed tiles or any other ceramic and natural stone tile requiring a grout that will not scratch the surface. Andrew Nunn, Davco's business manager, said the company had thoroughly researched and tested the formulation. "The result is Sanitized® Porcelain Grout, a versatile product that can be used internally or externally on wall or floor grouting applications. It can also be used in wet areas. "The big advantage of Sanitized® Porcelain Grout is that it is smooth and unsanded which means applicators, laying soft glazed and polished porcelain tiles or any ceramic or natural stone tile, now have a product that will not scratch the surface. "A high quality smooth finish can be achieved on these projects with a nice smooth finish in the grout joint. "Additionally the grout is sanitized, which means it provides resistance to a broad spectrum of moulds and bacteria. This is an important benefit for wet area applications or where bacteria may be a problem" said Andrew Nunn. "We have developed seven colours for the Sanitized® Porcelain Grout. This gives a selection of bold or subtle tones for various design considerations that will be pleasing to the eye. "The colour palette includes Silver Grey, Vanilla, Antique White, Ivory, Sandalwood, Black and Light Grey. Interesting visual features are achievable with the grout colours interacting with various tile and stone colours. "Davco Sanitized® Porcelain Grout is a real breakthrough for special projects featuring porcelain, glass and soft glazed tiles and natural stone" Andrew Nunn added. The new grout can be used in grout joints between 1-3mm wide. The coverage of the grout will vary depending upon the texture, size and thickness of the tile and the width of the grout. Sanitized® Porcelain Grout is available in 2kg and 10kg bags, in the seven colours, at all leading tile retail outlets. "Obviously there is a strong demand for an unsanded grout that can be used internally and externally and the new grout fills this niche in the market.
