Tecbeam - Suppling Innovative New Joist Technology, Composite Timber & Steel I-Beams

TECBEAM was established in 1995. We are Australian owned and our business encompasses:

  • Research & Development;
  • Licensing;
  • Design, Manufacturing and Marketing; of technically advanced Structural Building Systems, Materials and related Services.

The company's technologies and products must meet the following criteria:

  • Improved structural performance over traditional or competing products.
  • Measurable cost benefits.
  • Earth Friendly, providing significant environmental benefits.

THE CORE TECHNOLOGY
The TECBEAM "I" Beam Joist is a unique composite structural beam. The web consists of a continuous, light gauge galvanised steel plate, with stamped out stiffening ribs and regularly spaced service holes. Flanges of plantation-grown structural softwood are fixed (nailed) to this continuous steel web to form a composite "I" beam.

TECBEAM joists demonstrate many superior performance characteristics when compared to other commonly used joists.

Utilising the unique properties of our core product complete structural floor and roof systems have been developed. When the beams are utilized into a floor or roof system, TECBEAM joists can provide significant savings on the total cost of construction.

TECBEAM joists can often replace heavy structural steel beams, so that no special cranage and handling systems or expensive welding or cutting are required on site. Ceiling plaster and flooring materials can be fitted directly to TECBEAM'S integral timber flanges, and most services are able to pass through its service apertures, including air conditioning ducts and large waste pipes, without weakening the beam or the need for special cutting.
