Quality Duker cast iron by DEKs
One of our loyal customers, Frank Tannok, the Project Supervisor from
Fairfield Plumbing in Queensland explains his real life experiences with our Duker range.
Frank quotes "Duker cast iron can be a more time consuming installation to PVC." However
cast iron has better acoustic properties and is an advantage for acoustic issues. If PVC
requires acoustic properties it needs to be manually lagged therefore making it a more
physically challenging installation than cast iron. The non-combustible component allows
for extreme fire protection and acts as a noise eliminator.
Frank also explains that he had not come across any pricing issues relating to the Duker
range. His recent project on the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) facility has led him to
believe that the Duker range was suitable in relation to the plumbing systems designed for
the QBI facility. It was also acknowledged that there was a suitable range of fittings
available in the Duker range which allows products such as copper and PVC to be connected
to the cast iron.
When ordering large amounts of Duker products, Frank also explains that "Lead time on the
Duker cast iron range was acceptable on the QBI project." Lead time usually takes between
one to three days depending on its destination within Australia.
