Eco Sac rainwater storage - save water and save space

Architects are increasingly looking for water saving solutions that
do not impinge on the space needed for their designs and yet still meet the regulatory
water conservation requirements.
eco sac® has come to the rescue with 54 sizes of under-house rainwater storage bladders
that hide away under houses in sub-floor cavities and/or under decks. These flexible
bladders save space and save water. Company director Andrew Waudby says "we have designed
54 sizes of eco sac® in 6 different widths and 9 different lengths which means that there
is bound to be a size suitable for every house. The only requirement is that there is at
least 700mm height available and a site that can be made level."
The eco sac® comes with a heavy gauge galvanised steel frame with zinc and powder coated
legs which contains the sac and prevents it from rolling and pushing against the piers.
The 100mm inlet and two 32mm outlet pipes are fixed in place with a patented mounting plate
that ensures there is no movement guaranteeing a static plumbing mechanism. This mounting
plate also ensures the requirements of the plumbing standard are met (AS3500).
Eco Sac has made life easier for architects too by adding CAD drawings for each size to its
website. Go to www.ecosac.com.au to download the drawings and obtain other useful building
design resources and information. Like traditional rainwater tanks, the eco sac can be
connected to garden irrigation systems, toilets and washing machines.
The PVC material from which the bladder is made is imported from Sweden but has been accredited
to the Australian Standard for Potable water (AS4020) so that the water is tasteless and
odorless and can be safely used for topping up swimming pools and fishponds.
