Exterior screen cladding by Johnson Screens at the Minneapolis Gutherie Theatre
Beauty and Substance - exterior screen provides protection against the
elements. Johnson Screens designed all brackets for the system and adjusted them in three
directions so they would withstand wind loading. The mounting brackets were attached to
the concrete walls with Hilti® anchors to support the weight of the screen. Splice
brackets joined the panels of screen to one another, these brackets were adjusted for
panel alignment and were secured back to the concrete structure every 3 metres to
counteract wind loading.
- Features 12,500 square feet of screen, six tiers high (9 metres) designed and manufactured by Johnson Screens.
- Large and small door panels provide access for cleaning glass elevator walls.
- Screen construction consists of 6.35mm TRI wire, 12.7mm slot (66% open area), 6.35mm x 38mm support rods, with 305mm support rod spacing.
