Jacobs achieve welcoming atmosphere in award winning hospital atrium.

SUPAWOOD acoustic timber panels form a major feature on the expansive ceiling of the central atrium in the multi award winning Clinical Services Building at Blacktown Hospital in NSW.

The designers, Jacobs Engineering Group, sought materials for the interior which would not only achieve the warm welcoming atmosphere they envisioned but also address acoustic and environmental needs as well as BCA regulations within the required budget.

SUPAWOOD's SUPACOUSTIC acoustic timber panels were chosen as they were an economical solution to perfectly meet all essential criteria.

A central light-filled internal atrium forms seamless connection between the old and new hospital buildings which is reminiscent of a mall complete with retail outlets, cafes and the entry points leading into clinical service areas. This design humanises the entry into the hospital while cleverly directing patients and visitors quickly and easily to their destinations.
