Ezidek© Lightweight Suspended Concrete Floor System.
What is Ezidek©?
Ezidek forms a suspended concrete floor by providing parallel steel triangular trusses (lattice beams) spanning between and over walls at
regular spacing; 750mm standard. Load capacity can be increased by reducing the spacing between the girders. The bottom chords of the trusses
are encased in a band of lightweight, high strength concrete which, in cross section, stands out from each side of the inclined web members of
the lattice beam trusses.
Expanded polystyrene void formers are placed between; and supported on; the concrete outstands at the bottom of adjacent lattice beams.
Steel mesh is placed on the reinforcement bar that forms the apex of the triangular truss members; accurately positioning the mesh for
concrete coverage; to provide shrinkage control.
Concrete to a minimum thickness of 80mm is then placed over the assembly to provide a one-way floor incorporating parallel 'T' beams whose
soffit formwork is the base band of the lattice beams and whose bottom reinforcement is the embedded bottom chord steel of the lattice beam.
Ezidek can also be designed to act as a two way slab system by installing band/trimmer beams perpendicular to the Ezidek girders to form a
matrix. The band beams are contained within the normal 270mm profile of the Ezidek system.
Ezidek can also be used on simple transfer floors.
