Décor-Tex textured wall coating by Concrete Technologies
Décor-Tex decorative textured wall coating system is a specially designed texture coating
system for bagging brick or masonry surfaces. Décor-Tex is coloured throughout, and is designed to use the
texture and shape of the background brick or blocks to enhance the overall appearance.
Décor-Tex is manufactured from finely dispersed rust free minerals in an acrylic emulsion. These minerals
are graded to provide a tough but flexible coating of uniform appearance and the consistency of the finished
mixture allows it to be applied on to a range of surfaces including brick, pre-cast, lightweight concrete,
compressed cement sheeting and concrete panels.
Décor-Tex enhances the appearance of the surface by providing a light sandy textured surface in a range of
colours inspired by the beauty and serenity of nature.
The Décor-Tex decorative textured wall coating system is a two-coat application. The first coat is a primer
that penetrates the surface to ensure uniformity of absorption. The primer is applied using a lambs wool
paint roller and should be adequately mixed, using a high-speed drill and mixing paddle, prior to application.
A significant feature of this primer is the reduction of efflorescence from cement and lime mortars. primer is
supplied colour tinted to match the Finish Coat in a 20 litre pail.
The second application, Finish Coat, is a high-density acrylic based product that bonds to the Primer Coat to
give a durable textured surface. Finish Coat is applied using a lamb's wool application mitt and is supplied
colour tinted, to match the Primer, in a 15 litre pail.
The coating must not be applied during wet weather or when the air temperature is outside the range of 10 to
30 degrees Celsius. Wet surfaces must be allowed to thoroughly dry prior to application. After heavy rain a
minimum of 48 hours drying time is required. Hot surfaces must be allowed to cool to below 30°C. All surfaces
must be prepared entirely in accordance with the best practice methods as stipulated in the relevant Australian
Standards Specification codes.
