The Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 is a premiumperformance CFC/HCFC-free, rigid phenolicinsulation board specifically designed for rafterlevel insulation for tiled or slated pitched warmroof spaces.

Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 pitched roofboard is faced on both sides with a lowemissivity composite foil facing which ishighly resistant to the transmission of watervapour. This reflective, low emissive surfacecan effectively double the thermal resistanceof the cavity in which the board is placed.The core is a premium performance CFCHCFC free rigid phenolic insulation of typicaldensity 35 kg/m3.

Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 closed cell structurein unaffected by air movement, resists bothmoisture and water vapour ingress, problemswhich can be associated with open cellmaterials such as mineral fibre and which canresult in reduced thermal performance.

The insulation is safe and easy to install as itproduces no loose dust or fibres, making it apopular choice with installers. Kooltherm® K7unmatched thermal performance also meansthat the thinnest possible insulant can be usedto achieve the required U-values.

Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 board is a nondeleteriousmaterial, has negligible smokeobscuration, is easy to handle and install,and is ideal for new build and refurbishmentapplications.

Condensation risk analysis is an essential partof the design process and risk can be mitigatedby the correct use and placement of insulation,vapour barriers and breathable membranes tosuit the construction type and location.
