What are cribs and tapers?

Cribs and Tapers are the perfect solution to achieve correct height and width for your retaining wall. Outback Sleepers Australia's range of sleepers come in sizes of 2m length x 200 mm height x 80 mm depth or 2.4 x 100 x 100. So if you require a wall 800 mm high then you would simply require four sleepers (or easy panels are another great alternative also) - but if your wall needs to be 900 mm high this is where a crib comes in very handy as it is half the height of the regular sleeper. Cribs are 100 mm high and look great as a finishing touch on top of any retaining wall - irregardless of height requirements. Cribs come in the two regular lengths of 2m or 2.4 m at 80 mm or 100 mm depth.

Tapers, as the name implies are generally used when the wall is being built on a sloping property where the wall height needs to decline incrementally. Tapers slope from 200 mm height at one end to 100 mm at the other and only come in the standard 2 m length.
