NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESEfficient Industrial Induction Lighting from ThinkWiseIndustrial lighting is often precariously placed in inconvenient locations. The replacement and maintenance cost of such lighting can be excessive as it often involves the use of scissor lifts or other machinery. Recently introduced into the Australian market, induction lighting is being embraced courtesy of its long life and energy saving. At 100,000 hours of quality light, lights can be run for 12 hours a day and still last over 20 years. Cleverly engineered, induction lighting utilises fluorescent lighting technology, with one major difference. Fluorescent lighting uses electrodes in either end of the lamp, which over time, will die and cause the lamp to fail. Induction lighting has replaced this flaw element with a high-frequency generator designed to produce a magnetic field which excites the gas in the tube. This makes the lamp sustainable for a at least 100,000 hours.
