Control joint material for masonry from Electronic Blueprint
A suitable specification for control joint material, for use in masonry, is as follows;

sustainable buildings to architects, engineers and builders. Properly constructed control joints,
expansion joints and articulation joints in masonry (clay brick or concrete block) will ensure that there
is a minimum of cracking due to wall shrinkage or expansion, or footing movement. The integrity criterion
of the specified fire resistance levels may dictate the use of intumescent seals.
