Forbo Floorcoverings hits it big time in Hollywood
Captivated by the floor in the latest box office smash movie Burning After Reading
is George Clooney's character Harry Pfarrer. Walking into the kitchen, he exclaims "I like your floor;"
moments later, still fixated on it, he asks the party host Katie (Tilda Swinton) "Is it Forbo?"
And so Forbo Flooring can now add a touch of Hollywood to its list of accolades and awards.
Whilst Forbo's USA operations provided some flooring for the film, the company reference in the script
was an enormous surprise. Written and directed by the Oscar winning Cohen brothers, the film also stars
Brad Pitt, John Malkovich and Frances McDormand. Throw in a fun, quirky script, and it is no wonder the
black comedy has done so well.
It made an estimated $19.5 million in its opening week in the US and pushed out three others to become
the box office number one. The film has also done exceptionally well in Australia getting rave reviews
and also raking in big numbers at the box office.
Burn after Reading is doing remarkably well in many countries, giving valuable and irreplaceable,
international exposure to the Forbo brand name.
