Summer is upon us, which means your customers will be thinking about that big decking project they've been putting off. Meanwhile, architects and designers are looking for a high-end, stable and exotic timber that trouble-free decking installation.

Complimenting Lagler's range of recycled and reclaimed solid timber flooring, is the addition of beautiful Darwin Stringybark Decking. This is the closest to a jarrah-look you can get for your outdoor area within this price range, but is far more durable than Jarrah.

It's warm, rich tone will not fade to grey like softer timbers. Depending on the final coating used, this timber will render from stunning deep reddish-brown to a soft honey-brown.

With a Janka rating of 15 this is one of the hardest, most stable timbers on the market, exceeded only by Ironbark, traditionally the hardest, (around 15.5). Ironbark is most commonly found in 90mm x 18mm strips and retails for around $7-8 per lineal metre. Darwin Stringybark comes in 110 x 19mm, an above average width.

Wide decking boards create a more seamless, stable, flat and consistent look and take a little less time to install.

With around 8.8 lineal metres per square metre (using a standard 3mm gap) the price of this exceptional timber compares very favourably to the alternatives. It's also available in non-fluted for use in screenings.
