How to Apply JPS Coatings Tex-Guard Acrylic Based Texture Coating Membrane?

1. Prepare the Work Area
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and has uniform texture and appearance. Newly applied texture coating must be allowed to cure for at least two days before over coating with Tex-Guard. Keep in mind that curing or drying time takes longer during winter months.

2. Mixing and Application
Tex-Guard acrylic based membrane is supplied in a 15-litre plastic bucket. After mixing Tex-Guard, apply using either roller or spray. Make sure to use a brush in tight areas and around openings for a seamless finish.

Tex-Guard application must be done when temperatures are above 7°C and below 30°C. The newly applied membrane must be protected from natural elements like rain and frost for 24 hours.

When using Tex-Guard, keep in mind that thinning the mixture with water is prohibited. It is also not advisable to apply the texture coating under extreme temperatures, such as hot windy or sunny conditions.

3. Coverage
The spreading rate for one pail of Tex-Guard depends on the surface used. It has an estimated spreading rate of 4m² per litre assuming there is no loss. Factors like the method of application and the condition during application plays a significant role in the spreading rate of Tex-Guard.

4. Drying or Curing Times
Tex-Guard is usually touch-dry in 30 minutes after application. It may be over coated after two hours with temperatures at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. However, curing or drying will take longer with lower temperatures and higher relative humidity.
