Supawood's Supaslat Driftwood panels have been chosen by one of Sydney's leading architects for the restoration of a well know heritage building in Manly.

Dominating Federation Point in Manly Cove stands the old bathers pavilion boasting unrivaled views of Sydney Harbour and out to the Heads. Originally build in 1933, the heritage listed Manly Pavilion has recently undergone a detailed restoration. The upper level now houses one of Sydney's top restaurants which favors a Mediterranean theme to compliment the original style of the historic building.

Careful consideration for the venue's unique heritage has been a priority throughout the restoration. With this in mind the architect looked for materials that blended, not only with the Mediterranean theme, but with the maritime setting. Supawood's Supaslat Driftwood was chosen to detail the expanse of the ceiling in the main restaurant area as the product was seen as perfect to create a wharf style aesthetic atmosphere.

Supaslat Driftwood is a weathered effect applied by hand etching solid wooden slats, making every slat unique. Here the slats have been finished in antique white. The use of Supaslat Driftwood for the ceiling has not only enhanced the overall theme but also provided the means to cleverly merge and conceal utilities such as speakers and air conditioning vents. Supaslat is also highly durable and effective acoustically.

Once again a Supawood product has been recognized for its aesthetics, quality and versatility. Supawood are pleased one of their products now features prominently in the restoration of an important icon from Sydney's heritage.
