New Website for Good Environmental Choice Australia

GECA's new website is here!

Hello!
We're thrilled to launch the new GECA website, www.geca.org.au featuring industry news, product listings, information on standards and certification, as well as resources for procurement and green building professionals, product manufacturers and consumers alike.

Our new site gives you three ways to find certified products:

  • by product category and type (e.g. 'Flooring', 'Carpet tiles').
  • by manufacturer or distributor (e.g. Fuji Xerox).
  • by keywords (e.g. 'stationery').

Results can also be filtered by 'Approved Government Supplier' status or whether products are 'Green Star Applicable'.

Please take a few minutes to stop by www.geca.org.au. We're confident you'll find it an excellent resource.

Comment on our revised cleaning products standard

Our updated standard, Cleaning Products 2012 (Draft) has been released for public comment. We're very proud of all the work that has gone into this by our Standards team and we welcome any comment or feedback you may have. Follow this link for further info.

A call to all GECA licensees

The core of our new website is our Product Database and the detail with which your products and their benefits can be promoted to your potential clients. Each Product Listing allows for detailed product information, including links to your own pages, promotional PDFs and of course, photos! With this in mind, we'd like to encourage all our licensees to check your listings and send us any information, photos and PDF brochures you feel will best serve to promote your products!

Details, forms and a handy product category reference sheet may be found on our Product Database Update page.

Green Cities and GECA

The GBCA's Green Cities Conference and Expo, held on March 5-6, was (and is) the largest and most influential green building conference in the Asia Pacific.

We loved Rachel Botsman's keynote speech on 'Collaborative Consumption' and how it speaks to the concepts of 'quality vs. quantity' and 'what's mine is yours'.

We partnered with licensees Hume Cemboard, KE-ZU, Office Spectrum and Regupol to showcase their products at our stand, as well as Sustainable Living Fabrics and Cumberland Stationery.

It was great chatting with attendees about the value of the GECA ecolabel. All our visitors were invited to trial our new product database and to sample HealtheClean and SunnyWipes products. We also held a draw to win a GECA-certified 'Flynn' side table donated by Jardan Australia. And the winner is ... Congratulations to Joanne LeVene from Government News/The Intermedia Group!
