Anti-Slip Surfaces for Hospitals from Global Safe Technologies

One Stop Safety Solution Provider Solves Royal Jubilee Hospital Safety Issue.

The Royal Jubilee Hospital is a 500-bed general hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada located about 3 km east of the city centre, in the Jubilee neighbourhood.

Pro-active OH&S management during the safety review has identified a potential issue with one of their external painted entrance area and stairs.

They contacted the leading North American one stop surface safety solution provider, Anti Slip Anywhere, for expert advice and a solution proposal to reduce the risk of slip and falls.

Anti-Slip Anywhere has proposed using an environmentally friendly highly slip resistive and attractive anti slip coating, the Floor Tuff Ultimate to rejuvenate the surfaces.

To cater for the visually impaired as well as clear demarcation of the stairs, their already very widely used solution, the Safe Grip Ultimate was proposed.

Both the Floor Tuff Ultimate as well as the Safe Grip Ultimate products will provide a sustainable Very high Coefficient of Friction / Pendulum Class V slip resistance, it is a non dangerous goods product and cures quickly.

To ensure that the newly provided Anti-Slip surface will provide a problem free, sustainable, long term solution, the existing surfaces had to be properly prepared, by removing all previously applied paints. The Anti-Slip Anywhere team have thoroughly prepared the surface before the application of the new solutions.

The work had to be carried out over a weekend to ensure that there will be no disruption to the hospital's normal operation.

Anti-Slip Anywhere has assembled an experienced team of installers and have completed the entire project within the agreed time frame, including allowance for curing.

Hospital management has expressed their great satisfaction both with the rejuvenated surfaces aesthetical appearance as well as the dramatically increased slip resistance of the surfaces.

As a result of the work completed hospital management has already indicated that further work requirements are being identified across the entire complex as part of their comprehensive safety review.
