Pour On Gravel Binder for Driveway Project from StoneSet

Solving a maintenance headache

StoneSet recently supplied 360kg of Amber Pour On Gravel Binder for the stabilisation of a gravel driveway in Pymble, NSW.

The driveway was part of a newly built home and was required by council to be fully porous to promote the continued water table replenishment so the local vegetation, including some very old trees, were unaffected by the project.

Without the stabilisation from Pour On Gravel binder the maintenance headache of a loose gravel finish, which looks in keeping with the natural surroundings, is a maintenance nightmare and also unsightly most of the time from wheel ruts and footprints.

A loose gravel driveway can also be difficult to navigate for those who have difficulty walking, rely on wheelchair assistance or use push chairs and prams.

The Solution

StoneSet Pour On Gravel Binder is a quick fix which can last. The resin binder locks the gravel together and will be able to withstand most domestic vehicle traffic.

Installation is a three step process

1. Apply the first coat at a rate of 1-1.5kg/m2. This should be done in manageable section so the gravel can be smoothed off to the required finish.

2. A second coat of 1kg/m2 the following day, paying particular attention to cover any dry areas missed on the first application.

3. The final coat is applied at a rate of 1kg/m2 with extra attention to the heavier used sections such as turning areas.
