Kingspan Kooltherm K7 Roof Insulation from Dynamic Composite Technologies

kingspan kooltherm® k7 pitched roof applications

  • premium performance rigid phenolic insulation-thermal conductivity as low as 0.020 W/mK
  • on average its use creates a 15% more usable warm roof space
  • insulation of pipes and tanks is unnecessary
  • resistant to the passage of water vapour
  • non-deleterious material
  • no condensation risk

The Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 is a premium performance CFC/HCFC-free, rigid phenolic insulation board specifically designed for rafter level insulation for tiled or slated pitched warm roof spaces.

Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 pitched roof board is faced on both sides with a low emissivity composite foil facing which is highly resistant to the transmission of water vapour. This reflective, low emissive surface can effectively double the thermal resistance of the cavity in which the board is placed. The core is a premium performance CFC HCFC free rigid phenolic insulation of typical density 35 kg/m3.

Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 closed cell structure in unaffected by air movement, resists both moisture and water vapour ingress, problems which can be associated with open cell materials such as mineral fibre and which can result in reduced thermal performance.

The insulation is safe and easy to install as it produces no loose dust or fibres, making it a popular choice with installers. Kooltherm® K7 unmatched thermal performance also means that the thinnest possible insulant can be used to achieve the required U-values.

Kingspan Kooltherm® K7 board is a nondeleterious material, has negligible smoke obscuration, is easy to handle and install, and is ideal for new build and refurbishment applications.

Condensation risk analysis is an essential part of the design process and risk can be mitigated by the correct use and placement of insulation, vapour barriers and breathable membranes to suit the construction type and location.
