Batts and Rolls are supplied in two widths to suit standard housing construction, this being 430mm widths for 450mm centres and 580mm for 600mm centres. As the Batts and Rolls are safe and soft, Tontine Insuloft Building Batts and Rolls are easily torn or cut with a pair of industrial scissors or shears. Offcuts can be used to fill corners, crevices and gaps, eliminating any waste. For ceilings, Insuloft Building Batts or Rolls are installed by laying them on top of the ceiling between the ceiling joists. A 50mm gap should be allowed around flue pipes, ceiling fans and recessed lights. In walls, the Batts or Rolls are placed between the wall studs before the plasterboard is put in place.
