Fire and vermin proof gutter protection from Leafguard

Leafguard aluminium gutter protection utilises the latest materials available to achieve the maximum lifespan and performance. The aluminium mesh is made from exposure grade sheet that is expanded into the proven and patented diamond pattern. And then powder coated to the required colour.

The material is compatible with Bluescope (Colorbond) roofing products (Technical bulletin ctb-12) and complies with the following Australian standards AS 1530.2-1993 bushfire flammability index (0).AS4020-2002 Drinking water.

Our over gutter system uses a metal angle trim and roofing grade screws to fasten the mesh to your gutter edge. For tile roof applications the mesh covers the first row of tiles and tucks under the second row of tiles, the system is then silicone sealed around the ridge capping on corners and gable ends.

For corrugated and ribbed iron roofing a saddle is used to fasten the mesh to the roof cladding and then the entire top edge of the mesh is silicone sealed to prevent any leaf or debris collection under the system.

Clip lock style roofing has the mesh cut and fitted to each rib and the silicone sealed, generally this type of roofing is used in a box gutter application that may require wider mesh or fastening to a parapet wall in order to give the leaf matter a chance to clear the building perimeter.

Roof valleys can also be shielded but this is only required in unusual applications such as extreme leaf problems, fire proofing and small persistent vermin.

All roof and gutter types can be shielded including terracotta and concrete tiles, shingle and slate. Polycarbonate and glass. Colorbond, aluminium, zincalume, stainless steel and copper. Galvanized and asbestos roofing can be done but require special preparation and installation; all our tradesmen are covered under the statutory insurance and work cover requirements and use all appropriate safety equipment.

The system is warranted for 15 years with a life expectancy of over 30 years. Most standard colours are available and unusual, difficult or custom applications are our specialty. Ultrashield is also available in a budget H.D.P.E. (plastic) grade utilizing the same installation process for shorter term applications.
