Stramit Building Products now offers the next generation of steel purlin prodcuts manufactured from ZAM® coated steel.
ZAM® is a technologically advanced coated steel that allows new installation possibilities in corrosive environments. By replacing the need for post-galvanising, ZAM® products also lower material costs and reduce project lead times.
ZAM® coated steel offers better corrosion protection then conventional galvanised steel (around three times the design life) at a lower cost than products with comparable performance.
ZAM® products perform well in salt or marine atmospheres and are superior to galvanised steel in acid rain, sulfur dioxide or ammonia conditions. They also perform well in alkaline environments. They are appropriate for use near marine environments, in enclosed swimming pool complexes, in poultry, cattle and pig sheds environments, as well as in high industrial environments.
The superior scratch resistance of ZAM® products helps corrosion resistance in applications subject to repeated wear. ZAM® coated steel is also concrete compatible, making it an ideal material for steel formwork decking products.
