3M VHB tapes for external facades and cladding
For over 25 years 3M™ VHB™ Tapes have been fixing external facades
and cladding worldwide. This dynamic viscoelastic tape replaces traditional mechanical
fasteners such as screws and rivets allowing for a smooth flat panel with an uninterrupted
surface. On an external facade the smooth clean lines created allow for ease of 'self
cleaning'. Other significant benefits include; sound and vibration dampening, separation
of dissimilar materials, thermal separation of components, the ability to tolerate thermal
movement up to 300% of it's thickness and creation of a seal against moisture.
This makes 3M VHB Tape the ideal product for not only exteriors but also internal wall
linings, trims and fitments. After carrying out the correct surface preparation it is
simply a matter of 'peel and stick'.
Recently added to the VHB Tape range in Australia is the NEW Structural Glazing VHB Tape.
This product is designed to permanently bond glass into aluminium window and curtain wall
frames. With immediate bond strength it has the ability to speed up factory production
and totally eliminates the use of spacer tapes and structural silicone.
