NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESEnvironmentally Friendly Bricks Improve Insulation from Timbercrete
Shadow Minister Approves Timbercrete's Shadow Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Minister Catherine Cusack visited Timbercrete's show home designed to showcase sustainable construction. Ms Cusack was impressed with the many environmentally friendly features that are included in the home. One of the major contributors to the home, Timbercrete's environmentally friendly bricks were used to improve the insulation value and thermal mass of the home. Timbercretes bricks also use considerably less energy to produce than traditional clay and concrete bricks and have an improved fire rating than other materials, making homes safer. The home, "Sustaining our Shoalhaven" SOS display home, aims to demonstrate to individuals practical methods in making their own home environmentally friendly. Local businesses and the local government have also given their support to the project to provide a variety of ways in which homeowners can change their homes to be environmentally friendly. |
