NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESWestern Sydney shopping centre tactile solution from Global Safe Technologies![]() This newly built shopping centre of this fast growing Sydney western suburb required a disability standards AS/NZS 1428.4 - 2002 compliant tactile solution. Global Safe Technologies was contacted by management to provide a one stop solution for the shopping centre. The solution included the full assessment of the tactile requirements in the centre, luminance contrast testing of the various substrates and providing and installing a suitable range of tactile ground surface indicators for the various locations as well as signing off the completed work. Carl Strautins from Safe Environments was involved providing the overall assessment, luminance testing of the substrates and recommending the suitable luminance contrast colours for the various locations. Shopping centre management was confident engaging Global Safe for the entire project as Global Safe not only offered the entire solution was required, but also has an excellent understanding of the relevant standards and application, proven outstanding quality and range of the product, long term warranty, ongoing risk management program (FSMP©) and competitive price. Stage two of the installation was all internal tiled areas inside the centre. Global Safe Technologies and its authorised floor safety representative Global Safe NSW have completed the installation of the tactiles in several locations. The job was done out of hours, so the shopping centre patronage and normal operation was not effected by the work. Stage two of the installation was completed before Christmas, so the entire shopping centre was ready and was able to provide a disability standard compliant shopping experience for its customers during the busiest period. Shopping centre management is very satisfied not only with the quality of the work, but also the professionalism of the staff attended the site. Global Safe Technologies has worked closely with Safe Environment's representative ensuring that the entire project would be a success.
