What is an environmentally friendly chrome finish on a door handle?

Used in the manufacturing process of chrome plated products such as door handles, taps, cabinet ware or any product that has a chrome plating is a chemical called Hexavalent Chrome. This chemical is highly pollutant, highly toxic and very damaging to the environment we live in. A naturally occurring chrome, or environmentally friendly chrome, is called Trivalent Chrome. Trivalent Chrome does not have the damaging attributes that Hexavalent Chrome does; as a result the environment is far better off.

Olivari is the first door handle company in the world that has introduced Trivalent Chrome as an alternative to the use of Hexavalent Chrome on brass at an industrial level and that has made its related products available to all in he general hardware market.

BioChrome is available in 2 finishes; BioChrome Bright (otherwise known as polished chrome) and BioChrome Satin (otherwise known as satin chrome). The BioChrome finish has a darker tone of grey, more similar to steel compared to traditional chrome, which has a grey tone tending to blue.

This darker tone of grey is particularly interesting and attractive as it follows the new trends of architecture and interior design.
