Electrically commutated motors in fans from Fantech

Outstanding efficiencies and impressive control of the fan
performance are available from the use of EC (electrically commutated)
motors in fans.
This is displayed in the Gamma and PowerLine fans, the first of several
product ranges with EC Motors that were developed last year by Fantech. A
new 560mm diameter impeller has been incorporated into the fans, which
provides a lower maximum speed than the existing version and a significant
advantage in price. The new unit has a smaller motor, which, with less
power consumption, also adds to the EC fan range's ability to provide
outstanding efficiencies.
As EC motors incorporate integrated electronics to regulate the fan speed,
on site speed and therefore capacity adjustments, are simple. These motors
also carry their own electrical protection and offer data read-out functions.
The Fantech GL Gamma Series is designed for use in commercial kitchen exhaust
systems and other applications requiring the combination of speed-controllable
motors with allmetal, roof mounted construction, while the standard Gamma
unit provides many solutions for roof unit ventilation applications.
The PowerLine In-Line fans are an excellent all-round product, suitable for
supply or exhaust of air in a wide range of commercial and industrial
applications. As EC motors can be connected directly to a conventional single
or three-phase AC supply, the overall cost of the installation would be
comparable with a conventionally powered fan with control by frequency inverter.
