StreetBond™ from MPS Paving Systems making cyclists safer
Flinders Street Station is a Melbourne icon and one of the busiest
intersections in Australia. With the ever growing popularity of cycling, Melbourne
City Council and Vic Roads identified the need to separate bicycles from both
pedestrians and motor vehicles to improve safety for all users.
StreetBond™ was selected to delineate the cycle lane due to its excellent adhesion
properties on the road surface and wear characteristics. The performance of the
product was further enhanced in this application with the introduction of calcine
bauxite aggregate to add greater skid resistance.
This StreetBond™ project was installed by Brick N Pave and the product is supplied
nationally by MPS Paving.
