NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESPermacube cobblestone permeable surface by Italian PorphyryPorphyry Stone Melbourne and our team of stonemasons in the last 2 years has developed a low maintenance permeable surface using Porphyry Stone. Based on the traditional tecnique of laying cobblestones and tiles on sand over a macadam substrate, we created a permeable surface hard wearing, no slip and traffic resistant. Cobbles and tiles are laid on a porous aggregate mix later grouted and finished with a mix based on fine gravel and sand. Permacube© has been used and tested in many projects in Australia and internationally it is ideal for tree and pool surrounds, roof gardens and urban backyard. Our system bonds the stone with the substrate creating a surface that could be used to collect rainwater in storage systems or filtering the water back to the roots system of trees or gardens in urban environment.
