Sandpiper SO5 Pumps from Kelair Pumps Australia

sandpiper pump

Case Study
Sales Engineer Frank Molinaro (VIC)

Sandpiper seals leakage problem Kelair was approached by a customer to solve a diaphragm pump leakage problem.

The customer was using a non-Kelair brand 1/2" nonmetallic diaphragm pump that was forever leaking at the top manifold / main body interface.

It was observed at this point the pump only had 2 x 2 bolts (4 bolts in total) connecting the top manifold to the main body.

As the customer was using this pump for a high pressure spraying application the pump consistently leaked from the top manifold.

The customer then trialled a Sandpiper S05 nonmetallic pump with 2 x 4 bolts (8 bolts in total ) connecting the top manifold to the bottom manifold.

The pump proved successful with no leakage occurring even with the pump being dead-headed at 6.5 bar air pressure.

The customer also liked the fact the pump was much more robust, with thicker housing, manifolds and threaded connections.

Overall the customer was very happy with the quality of the pump.
