E.W. Cox building maintenance equipment

Davits
Davits are generally used in applications where the amount of space available on the roof is limited, and where the hoisting height is low. In these situations, a davit system used in conjunction with an E.W.Cox self powered (traction winch) cradle represents a cost effective alternative to a full size BMU.

E.W.Cox has a large range of standard davit designs. These include parapet mounted and floor mounted systems, and enable the cradle to be picked up from ground level, or landed on the roof. Standard designs enable an outreach of up to 1.6 metres. However reaches in excess of 2 metres have been achieved.

A range of accessories are available to aid in the erection and repositioning of davits.

Luffing Eagle
The Luffing Eagle is a compact, single jib design offering façade access to buildings with reduced roof clearances. It provides an economic alternative to davits and gantries that use self powered access cradles, whilst still providing all the safety and features of a full drum hoist system.

The Luffing Eagle is designed to suit buildings up to 120m high, with a max jib reach of 2.5m. This machine offers main jib Luffing and electric traversing, and can be installed on concrete runways or twin rail track systems.

At the heart of each eagle is a compact version of the simple and reliable E.W.Cox multi layer, multi segment drum hoist. It features four independent wire ropes to support the cradle. Copper conductors wound into the core of each rope transfer control signals between the roof trolley and the cradle.

Hawk Gantry
The Hawk gantry is a compact single jib unit, and as the name suggests, shares many components and features with the popular ‘Hawk.’ Its simple and robust design provides the operators with the benefits of a roof-mounted system, and the cost effectiveness of cradle mounted traction winches.

This machine comes equipped with powered machine traverse, powered jib slew, and manual crossbar slewing as standard features. Jib luffing and powered crossbar slewing are available as options. It can also be supplied with a range of communication options.

Reaches up to 5m have been achieved, and the Hawk Gantry can be installed on concrete runways or twin rail track systems.
