Leading architectural firm, PDT Architects have just relocate their Brisbane studio to a state of the art studio in Fortitude Valley.

The new premises feature an innovative open plan layout that is both inviting and easy on the eye. Critical to the development was the need to ensure the highest possible green ratings on all materials used in this project.

When PDT signed the lease for the new McLachlan Street office it was the start of a journey towards creating a studio that truly reflects the pdt vision and values.

A sense of openness is the first thing to greet visitors arriving on level three, enhanced by the wide reception area, open stairs connecting to level 4 and views to the exterior.

Natural light floods both levels of the studio providing a connection to the outside world.

The Project Directors recognised early on that an acoustic treatment would be required for the plasterboard ceilings and initially specified an perforated gypsum board from a major plasterboard manufacturer.

However, upon closer scrutiny, it became apparent that the plasterboard that was specified would not meet the stringent environmental accreditations required. Consequentially, DecorBoard Acoustic Plasterboard from Decor Systems met every requirement; hence the specification was changed, and DecorBoard was installed, meeting both the 'green' and acoustic requirements.
