Twin Hoist Scando 650 and Transport Platforms from Alimak Hek

Alimak Hek get Probuild into all the hard to reach places

Commencing in October 2009, Probuild's Clara Project involved the construction of six separate residential buildings including a two level basement carpark, 12 three-storey townhouses, a thirteen-storey 159 apartment tower and a four-storey 30 apartment block. Alimak Hek provided engineering, planning and on-site support for the installation, servicing and dismantling of an Alimak Scando 650 Twin hoist and two Hek TPM 3000T2 transport platforms used during construction. Building works for the six buildings of the Clara project were completed in August 2011.

The Alimak Scando 650 performs well with inclinations and curves, its modular system allowing it to constantly change its structure throughout building works. This enabled the hoist system to follow the changing shape of the building, providing men and material access to all 13 levels of the apartment tower throughout each construction phase.

Hek TPMs provided a perfect fit during works on the low rise townhouses, despite the limited access afforded by the site. Alimak Hek engineered and manufactured unique platforms and hoist gates that enabled workers to access both sides of the building, using a single Hek platform. This eliminated the need to move hoist equipment around the site and permitted work to proceed on both building facades simultaneously.

Alimak Hek's unique solution to the access challenges of the Clara project provided cost and time savings by reducing manual handling and crane time on site.
