NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESFixing Bluestone Panel Façades from StoneClip![]() Contemporary Finshes - Project at St Kevin's Music Centre The above and below photos are of the new music center at St Kevin's school at Toorak in Melbourne which has just been handed over as complete. The project was built by Building Engineering, a local building company, who employed Comtemporary Finisher (nazz@cfts.com.au mob 0418 369 446) to clad the project. It was supervised by Nazz and Vito Citera, who own the company.
The project which was a precast concrete panel building, entailed three different types of Stoneclip products being used to support and restrain the stone panels, which are 30 mm thick x 1000 mm long and 500 mm deep panels of chiseled Bluestone (42 kgs/ panel).
The front portion of the building was installed on 41 mm x 41 mm channel using the 8 mm StoneSub brackets, which gave a 75 mm cavity the sides and back using the 8 mm adjustable Stoneclip - working with a cavity of 20 mm. Some of panels sections over the doorways had to be supported with the 12 mm StonePin because of their position. It is a fine building and worthy of being a contemporary finished project.
