Anti-slip walkways with Global Safe Technologies at Tallebudgera Creek
This very unique and appealing community project proves that when inspired
aboriginal artists and local schools, their positive and forward thinking local council, a
university and a floor safety specialist company gets together, they can jointly produce
something outstanding.
On this occasion the Gold Coast Council, Griffith University, local aboriginal artists,
students from various local schools and Global Safe Technologies Gold Coast were involved
jointly in this walkway safety and beautification project.
The council provided the funding and specification, Griffith University organised the project,
Global Safe Technologies Gold Coast provided the technical know how and application of the
anti slip surface, the local aboriginal artist the design and the students from the schools
contributed the artistic finish, which included the actual creation of the mural on the walkway.
This joint work has completed successfully in spite of the less than favourable weather
conditions and the beautiful and anti slip surface is now available for the public to enjoy
and use and already lots of positive comments are being made.
To comply with the Council's specification, The Floor Tuff Green environmentally friendly
polyurethane anti slip coating was chosen as the anti slip surface due to it proven
sustainability. The company also assisted the school with paint selection to ensure that
the beautified surface slip resistance will not be effected.
The local aboriginal artists provided several designs which were painted on the non slip
surface by the students. It was not only fun for the students but also allowed them to be
proud of the result of their work which will be enjoyed by them as well as the general public.
The Council is also taking up the industry unique, Floor Safety Maintanence Program (FSMP)
which is also offered to them as part of the solution, to ensure that this unique and
beautiful floor safety solution provided will remain intact now and in the future.
