Nanotechnology glass coating by Nanovations at The Pinnacle Apartments
Nanovations announces the first high rise building treated with a
nanotechnology glass coating in Sydney, Australia. The Pinnacle Apartments in North
Sydney are a prestigious residential development.
The 23 story landmark building with views to the Sydney harbour and the famous
harbour bridge has showed severe glass contaminations on all areas that made it
impossible to enjoy the views at the pristine location.
Nanovations in cooperation with the leading high access maintenance company in
Australia, Karabiner Access Pty Ltd, came up with a solution to remove this
stubborn contaminations scratch free and on a large scale not done before.
The special formulated abrasive cleaning method in combination with the skills
and knowledge of the involved companies produced a glass that looks like brand new.
Due to the scale of the project which included an estimated 5500 square metre of
glass surfaces, the replacement of the glass would have cost significant more.
To reduce the risk of re-contamination all cleaned glass was coated with Nanovations
glass treatment NG 1010. This product creates a hydrophobic surface coating only a
few hundred thousands of a millimetre thick.
The project was constantly monitored and a full quality assessment was done by Connell
Mott MacDonald one of Asia Pacific's largest and most experienced multi-disciplinary
engineering practices and technical personal from Nanovations.
