KABA automatic entrances from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems

Your automatic entrance is one of the major ways in which air-conditioning escapes from your buildings. Shop fronts with toughened glass door leaves are the worst offenders. Air leaks out underneath the door leaves, out between the gap between the door leaf and the shop front as well as the gap between the door leaves in the closed position.

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems and Kaba have an extensive range of automatic door products that seal your automatic door leaves and shop front almost eliminating the loss of air-conditioning. The Kaba PSX slimline aluminium framing and sealing system allows you to have an attractive entrance system while keeping your air conditioning on the inside where it belongs.

Efficient, Clean, Effective
The Kaba Air-Gate is so efficient because it approaches the problem of keeping exterior air out from a new angle. Unlike traditional systems, which permanently blow hot or cold air down the doorway, the Kaba Air-Gate is activated when the door is opened and uses only air at room temperature. The system may use 80% less energy, but is more effective than other air curtain systems due to the way the air is forced across the doorway.

Instead of blowing air down, the Kaba Air-Gate uses fans on either side of the door to create a curtain of air down its length. Not only does the Kaba Air-Gate keep exterior air out; it stops insects, dust and odours from entering.

The whole system is also self cleaning and maintenance free as there are no complicated heating or cooling elements to worry about.

Automatic Doors and Energy Efficiency
As electrical machines of all types age, inefficiencies begin to build up. Each inefficiency, on its own is small but when added to the other inefficiencies within the door and multiplied by the number of automatic doors in the building the overall energy loss can be significant.

Areas in which energy can be lost in an automatic door system;

  1. Worn rollers and bearings.
  2. Worn motor bearings.
  3. Stiff and poorly lubricated chains.
  4. Incorrectly adjusted belts.
  5. Incorrectly adjust sensors that allow the door to open as people are
    passing by.
  6. Incorrectly adjusted floor guides.

Having the above items checked and repaired by a professional automatic door company like ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems will give you the peace of mind that your automatic door is operating as efficiently and quietly as possible. Call 07 3356 2752 to arrange an energy audit of your equipment.
