Fire Station Upgrade Gets the The redevelopment of Melbourne's West Altona Fire Station came with the promise by the Melbourne Fire Brigade to offer the best possible facility, resources and service delivery to the local community. Therefore, Modular Wall Systems™ was immediately contacted when it was discovered that the emergency back-up generator exceeded the noise limit and was a potential catalyst for complaints from neighbouring residents. In addition, it was very important that the solution be price sensitive. After an independent acoustic assessment it was determined that a 3.4 x 5.3 metre, 2-sided noise mitigating enclosure utilising VogueWall™ posts with AcoustiMax™75 panels would offer the most cost effective solution. Our AcoustiMax™ panels have a proven noise reduction quality of 20 +dB so were able to successfully shield the neighbouring residents from any excessive generator noise. To ensure quick and easy access to the generator whist maintaining noise mitigation integrity, Modular Wall Systems™ custom designed full height modular gates. This gate also incorporated the AcoustiMax™ 75 panels. An ingenious flash plate inconjunction with foam tape ensured no excessive noise leak through the seam in the double door frontage. The Altona Fire Station along with their contracted acoustic engineer was extremely pleased by the end result that only took 2 days to install. Modular Wall System™ managed the entire process from concept drawings, detailed design and engineering through to installation, which is why they are Australia's leader and fastest growing manufacturer of commercial acoustic walls. |
