GOCUBE secures another signage award
The Western Sydney, Signcraft regional final, hosted by WorkSkills
Australia, took place on Saturday 20th October at Mount Druitt Tafe. WSA, a
not-for-profit organisation, has been dedicated to providing a platform for
exhibiting the skills and works of talented, young, Australian apprentices and
trainees for the last 25 years.
The gathering of enthusiastic, apprentice Signwriters were required to produce a
professionally signwritten, 1000mm x 600mm, panel from a, supplied, A4 sketch.
The final submission involved construction of lettering, colour matching, vinyl
work and brush work. All of which had to be completed within OH&S guidelines.
With all entrants vying for a place in the nationals, competition was tough.
The Signcraft category was won by Tracey-Lee Googh of GOCUBE.
"I am really excited to have won this round and am looking forward to the
Nationals."
Tracey-Lee has gone from strength to strength in this, traditionally, male
dominated industry. Last year Tracey-Lee collected a bronze in the 'Work
by a 1st Year Apprentice' category at the Australian Sign and Graphic
Association awards.
Alison Newham, GOCUBE's director, has provided continuing
support for Tracey-Lee, and is thrilled, once again by her achievements.
"Tracey-Lee has shown a great flair for signwriting and we are very proud
of her success."
