Electric in-slab floor heating - Elektra twin heating cables from P.A.P. Heating Solutions

What is electric in-slab floor heating?
Electric in-slab heating uses electric cables embedded in
a concrete slab floor to provide home heating. The slab
stores the heat at night, and releases it to provide
continuous warmth to the home during the day. Using
off-peak electricity in-slab heating is an economical
method of providing 24 hour heating, if set at a suitable
temperature in a well insulated home. No other heating
system provides the all-round benefits of in-slab
heating: low cost installation, versatility and low
maintenance, silent and allergy-free operation, safety
and low running costs. Plus the total freedom of decor
and furniture layout.
Zoning for variable temperature control
In-slab heating should always be zoned with individual
zones having separate electronic thermostats - either
floor or air sensing. This allows you to adjust the
temperature to suit room usage - the lower the
operational temperature, the greater the savings.
Home/Commercial Applications
ELEKTRA SelfTec Twin self-regulating heating cable
ELEKTRA Twin Heating Cables are available in ready made sets in a comprehensive
range of lengths. Their convenient 'twin' design means installation is straight
forward - you simply start at the power source and work to the end of the cable,
saving installation time and expense. They come packaged on reels, which means
a kink and twist-free roll out. Elektra heating cables are Quality Assured to
ISO 9002 and ISO 9001.
Cold storage room floors/Ice & snow conditions
ELEKTRA VCD10 Twin frost protection heating cable
ELEKTRA heating cables have many applications besides home heating.
Our range of VCD10 twin frost protection cables are designed to prevent freezing in
cold storage room floors or anywhere where protection against freezing, icing or
snow-capping is required. (Example shown, driveway ramp).
Pipes/Valves/Gutters/Cold room doors
ELEKTRA SelfTec Twin self-regulating heating cable
Even in the most adverse cold or winter weather, the ELEKTRA SelfTec antifrost system
protects water supply lines, valves, pipes, gutters, compressed air or hydraulic cylinders and
other objects likely to fail due to low temperatures. The system automatically adjusts the
cable temperature so that basic operational conditions are met.
Easy Assembly
The ELEKTRA SelfTec system is designed to be laid directly on the protected part such as a
pipe, a valve, a gutter or cold room doors - even on plastic products. Unlike some heating
cables, self-regulating ELEKTRA SelfTec cables remain flexible, even at low temperatures,
and are easy to remove.
Self Regulation
The self-regulating feature enables the cable to produce varying amounts of heat (power)
depending on the environmental temperature. When the protected object is cold the
heating cable warms up, working at higher power. As the protected object attains a higher
temperature the heating cable operates at lower power, and produces less heat. These
properties are enabled by the relationship between the concentration of molecular
conductors in the cable's structure and the resulting electrical resistance which determines
the current intensity (heat). This self regulation means thermostats are not required.
Design and Safety Features
- Cross-linked polymer core.
- Carbon extruded between parallel copper conductors.
- Powered from one end with 3-metre connection cable and 3 pin plug.
- In the case of local overheating, this section will not operate yet the remaining cable
length maintains its properties.
- Braided copper tin-plated protective earthed screen.
- Outer coat of modified polyolefins.
- Cable will not overheating and burn at crossing points.
Home heating kit/Room heating
ELEKTRA Twin heating mat
The ELEKTRA heating mat is a twin cable on a fibreglass mat with a single-sided power
supply and is thermostat controlled. ELEKTRA heating mats may be used under any type
of floor which radiates heat easily, such as floor tiles, stone, slate, polished concrete, low
pile carpet or some wooden floor panels. For a room wih good thermal insulation,
ELEKTRA heating mats may be used as the primary heating system. They are simple to
install, provide comfortable heating and are economical and safe. ELEKTRA heating mats
are 0.5m wide and come in lengths from 2m to 16m and can be easily cut to fit the
shape of the room.
Microtemp Thermostats
The range of OJ Electronic thermostats are especially
developed for control of electrical under floor heating.
Their elegant design is suitable for vertical flush
mounting or DIN rail mount in switchboards. The
thermostats include either a floor sensor or air
sensing-the temperature is controlled with an accuracy
of only 0.4 degrees C. The Range: MTC for standard room
mount. MCC2 with built-in 4 event clock or can be set
to decided times of operation. ETN for DIN-rail
mounting & ETS for snow and ice.
