Guardian Tactiles supply and install non-slip tactile indicators at Perth Central Station

Yellow Guardian Tactiles installed at Perth Central Station.

Guardian Tactile Systems were chosen to install their Tactile Indicators on all the train platforms at Perth Central Station. They were selected over and above other systems because of many issues. The Guardian tiles can be installed while the surrounding area is still in use. There was minimal disruption to the flow of people boarding and exiting trains and the passengers were able to walk on the tactiles immediately upon installation.

Their tile is made from long life "Bayer" Polyurethane and it has a life expectancy of around 20 years plus. Guardian tiles are also not expensive. Their successful tender was far lower than other competing systems. Guardian Tactile's are now regularly purchased by over 200 councils throughout Australia and most major builders.

Guardian Tactile ground surface indicators are used to warn people who are blind or vision impaired that they are approaching a hazardous situation. It may be a train platform edge, street crossing, set of stairs, or an overhead obstruction where they can injure themselves.
