Resin based Terrazzo from Nuplex Construction Products

Architectural Terrazzite (resin terrazzo) was used on the service corridor
at Stocklands Mall Wetherill Park.
Architectural Terrazzite is a resin based terrazzo flooring system that differs from terrazzo
in that it is only 8mm thick and has no grout lines. Terrazzite is applied insitu.
The resin based terrazzo system offered a solution for covering 71m² of existing tile surface
that was starting to show the effects of long term wear and tear and stained grout lines. Floor
levels required a change in slope to accommodate the toilet amenities that the corridor serviced.
The builders, Better Built Group (BBG) were initially worried about solving the concerns of
coating a multi sloping floor using a resin based flooring system. Having years of experience
with resin based terrazzo, Nationwide flooring had been able to overcome the problem by hand
grinding the areas concerned to achieve a surface that is both durable and decorative.
Architect Ben Voerhaaken from leffler Simes Architects was very pleased with the colour match
of the resin based terrazzo system to the tiles in the main section of the mall.
Working along side and accommodating other trades the task of laying the resin based terrazzo
flooring system was completed within two weeks.
The project was undertaken and completed by Bob Achurch of Nationwide Flooring.
Natiowide Flooring have been involved in the application of resin based terrazzo flooring systems
throughout Australia since 1999.
