Non-slip floor surfaces from Global Safe Technologies wear testing success

Slippery floors and surfaces are a major issue facing businesses today.
These companies are looking for an environmentally friendly solution. The other question
that comes to mind is how long are the solutions provided going to last? Global Safe
Technologies believes it has the answers and can provide the right advice to solve these
issues with a little help from some industry experts.
It is claimed that conducting slip resistance tests on products 'fresh' from the factory
or that have just have been applied to a surface, produces test results which are illusory
and do not offer an accurate depiction of the slip resistance of flooring surfaces over time.
Carl Strautins from Slip Check Pty Ltd, a specialist safety consulting company in Australia
who pioneered the accelerated wear test explains, "There has been significant development
over the last few years where the impact of accelerated wear techniques are endorsed by
multinational companies, who have implemented internal standards based on this test methodology.
This enables organisations that design, construct and procure their own assets to minimise
their exposure to risk in slip and fall incidents and litigation and provides tiling and anti
slip solution manufacturers and remedial applicators a method to differentiate their products
against their competitors whilst satisfying the end users needs."
Both Global Safe's Floor Tuff Green, (environmentally friendly polyurethane anti slip coating)
and Safe Grip (anti slip strips and non skid coating product) have undertaken this test with
outstanding results. The Safe Grip has only shown a 22.5 percent reduction of slip resistive
quality, while the other highly slip resistive surfaces have shown an average of 55.5 percent
reduction of slip resistance over the 5000 cycle period. While it is hard to precisely equate
the value of the number of cycles to an amount of time, a rough estimate of the 5000 cycles
equates to 7 to 10 years. So as you can see, once again Global Safe delivers the solution to
solve the issues - Environmentally Friendly, and Long lasting solutions.
