Schindler Lifts wins 2007 BRW Negotiation Challenge

Schindler Lifts Australia has been awarded the 2007 BRW Negotiation
Challenge out of a field of eleven talented teams including Boehringer Ingelheim,
Paramalat, Crown Equipment, Konica Minolta and Darwin Airport.
The award, presented at the 11th annual Supply Clusters Conference in Sydney, is a
big honour for the Logistics Team at Schindler. "...the team worked very hard on this
initiative and I am personally very proud of them. Especially considering the quality
of the other teams in the challenge," said Sharad Pathak, Supply Chain Manager.
The Negotiation Challenge sessions, led by Jim Bergman, president and chief executive
of Commitment Management, were held via live web casts over a month, simulating a
commercial rental and breach of contract dispute, involving multiple parties.
Schindler and Boehringer Ingelheim, the two finalists, presented their respective
findings and recommendations to over 100 conference delegates who were acting as
the board of directors. The delegates then voted to determine the winner.
"The Negotiation Challenge, allowed us to use our skills and draw on some of the
Quality Assurance tools and practices we use everyday at Schindler."
