Global Safe Technologies OH&S non slip solution for a heavy machinery workshop
Before.
This large central Queensland based coal mine proactive and safety conscientious
management had some OH&S concerns on the work site with slippery surfaces of this part covered
heavy earth moving machinery workshop. Queensland Anti Slip Solutions, the local Global Safe
Technologies floor safety representative was asked to propose a highly slip resistive,
environmentally friendly and proven sustainable solutions to eliminate the risk.
Management also required that various very specific colours be used, as well as that the project
would be completed on the basis that it will not disrupt normal operations. The requirement included
providing highlighted walkways in the demarcation of the workshop area. After evaluation of various
solutions, mine management has decided to go ahead the solution proposed by Queensland Anti Slip Solutions.
The company was chosen due to the products widely proven sustainable slip resistive quality and
applicability to the environments as well as the professionalism of the service provider company.
The job has now completed within agreed time and management is extremely pleased with the result
and also with the very limited down time taken to complete the job. Now management and employees
are equally satisfied with the knowledge that the solution will provide an OH&S compliant and safer
work place for years to come. The new demarcation lines will also assist all employees and drivers
attending the workshop.
Queensland Anti Slip Solutions will also be looking at providing non slip solutions for other areas
of concern. The industry unique Floor Safety Maintenance Program© (FSMP©) is also offered to the client
as an integral part of the solution, to ensure that the floor safety solution provided will remain
intact now and in the future.
