SELFLEVEL® Heavy Duty Manhole Cover

SELFLEVEL® is a heavy duty manhole cover by EJ, featuring an innovative design that has been tested and widely used in the European market. Due to the product's high demand in Europe, EJ is bringing SELFLEVEL® into the USA and Australian market.

SELFLEVEL® sits live in the bitumen road surface, so it floats with the top surface of the surrounding roadway. There is a telescopic effect, where the top guide frame moves up or down against the base frame to keep the manhole cover connected to the precast manhole structure.

There is no doubt that SELFLEVEL® delivers both functionality and high performance thanks to an extra strong, ductile iron body. Because the product floats with the bitumen, the whole product stays level with the roadway. This gives councils less chance of having covers sink relative to the road surface, which can cause accidents to motorists. This is especially ideal for places that have diverse climate variations , as these areas are where the bitumen/road surface is more prone to movement due to changing temperature conditions.

The unique design allows road resurfacing crews to raise road levels with the manhole already in place. The top frame is removed from the bitumen, while the base frame stays in place on the manhole structure. New bitumen is laid to the correct level and grade. The top guide frame is reset into the bitumen and the base frame and then steamrolled into its final position.
