The 'Enfold' is the latest model in Enzie's award-winning modular spiral star range

The concept of the "fold" has a long emotional history: ancient shepherds brought their flocks into the fold for safety at night, religious groups talk about welcoming people into the fold, and we can all relate to being folded in our mother's arms.

It was this notion of being safe, of being "enfolded", that inspired Bryan Mackenzie to create the latest model in his range of Enzie spiral stairs.

The "enfold" is the next step in the development of the multiple award-winning modular spiral stair system pioneered by Enzie Stairs. The "enfold" capitalises on the inherent safety of spiral stairs by wrapping a broad ribbon of perforated aluminium around the structure. This perforated shield or helix forms a balustrade that gives users an additional sense of security, of being enfolded.

On the aesthetic front, the shield highlights the already fascinating form of the spiral stair and makes it even more of a sculptural piece that enhances the appearance of traditional or contemporary settings.

The "enfold", like other Enzie spiral stairs, is available in four proven systems that offer a range of sizes for different applications — from adding an upstairs room to a cottage to starting from scratch with a grand design for a mansion or apartment building.
